Self Employed Car Mechanic - Day Rate

Unique opportunity for a car mechanic to join a new and growing venture in Gloucester.

We currently operate a two-ramp workshop in Gloucester, just off Bristol Road, complete with its own office and WC. We are looking for a motivated individual who is ready to take ownership of the space and make their mark on it.

We are seeking a self-motivated, fully skilled mechanic, experienced in MOT preparation and capable of working through multiple MOT failures each week.

Our business has been established for 15 years and operates its own fleet of cars and 3.5T vans, all of which require ongoing servicing and maintenance.

In addition to this, the business is expanding rapidly this year. Alongside our established UK transport company, the business owner is acquiring multiple car retail sites and plans to stock in excess of 100 vehicles, with a target of selling around 60 vehicles per month — the majority of which will require MOT and service work.This is a highly flexible, independent role, unlike any other mechanic’s position currently on the market. Ideally, we are looking for someone with the appetite and passion to support the future sales team in achieving our target of 60 vehicle sales per month.

For the right candidate, we are offering £600 per week, plus a negotiable weekly commission/bonus scheme which could equate to a further £750 per week, giving a total potential weekly earning of £1,350. This represents an OTE of approximately £70,200 per year, with a guaranteed minimum of £31,200 per year.

In conclusion, we are looking for a unique, flexible individual with an excellent work ethic, who is willing to put in the hours required to achieve ambitious goals. The business owner and the wider team will be working tirelessly throughout this year and beyond to build a successful 100+ vehicle car sales business.
