HGV Mechanic

D. C. Merrett & Co Ltd is a family-run business based just south of Gloucester. For over 30 years, we've specialised in abnormal load heavy haulage, wastewater logistics, and commercial engineering. Our reputation is built on high-quality work, industry expertise, and a personal approach that keeps our customers coming back.
We're looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic to join our skilled workshop team of 4-5 engineers. The role will involve a mix of workshop and off-site work, including call-outs and breakdowns, so flexibility is key. A company van will be provided for off-site jobs.
What you'll do:
Carry out servicing, inspections, and repairs on our fleet
Diagnose and fix mechanical faults quickly and effectively
Maintain vehicles to the highest standards to support our day-to-day operations
Work both independently and as part of a close-knit team
Keep the workshop environment safe, clean, and organised
What we're looking for:
NVQ Level 2 or above (or equivalent qualification)
At least 3 years' experience in a similar role
Solid knowledge of a range of commercial lorries
A proactive, hands-on approach and a strong work ethic
