Greatfield Park is a small, friendly primary school judged to be Good in all areas by Ofsted in January 2025.
We are looking to appoint a School Business Manager (SBM). This role is diverse and varied, with the main focus being to provide a warm and welcoming presence in the school office and to support the Headteacher in the organisation, management and oversight of the school’s finances, personnel, premises and administrative functions.
The SBM will work as part of the Leadership Team and will line manage the small team of administrative staff, premises staff and midday supervisors.
We are looking for an outstanding practitioner who is committed and enjoys working in a friendly and ambitious school environment.
Tasks will include, but are not limited to:
• Leading on all financial matters within the school, preparing realistic balanced budgets and assisting in the overall financial planning process in conjunction with the GCC Finance Team
• Leading the day-to-day running of the school office
• Managing pupil records and transfers
• Leading on procurement processes
• Managing payroll, staff contracts, supply staff and associated online records
• Overseeing the implementation of health and safety systems
• Overseeing the safe maintenance and security of the school premises
The successful candidate will have a good standard of education and evidence of up-to-date CPD. A business management qualification would be desirable, together with successful experience in a school or business environment, and a willingness to ‘pitch in’ and engage fully in school life.
