Job summary
Core CAMHS is a Tier 3, multidisciplinary service central to Gloucestershire's Children's Mental Health provision, supporting children and young people with moderate to severe mental health needs.
The service is recruiting an Operational Lead who will be a key leader, providing compassionate, effective leadership to ensure high-quality mental health care for children, young people, and families. The service is described as vibrant and dynamic, offering opportunities to use a wide range of skills, make a meaningful impact on the local population, and support workforce development.Main duties of the job
The role requires a professional health or social care qualification, current registration and experience within a children's mental health care setting. The core operating hours of the service are 9:00 am to 17:00pm Monday to Friday with some flex according to service need. Our teams value presence and engagement and the capacity to travel between bases and meetings is needed. You will:
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with a wide range of people, from children and families, to all levels of the GHC organisation and partners
- Lead compassionately, with our GHC Trust Values integral to your approach
- Place the voice of children and families at the centre of service delivery and development,
- Provide planning, development and delivery of service and quality improvements in line with local and national priorities and strategy.
- Operationally enable clinically led services to collaboratively achieve effective governance
- Be confident to prioritise, adapt and problem solve in this fast paced environment
- Lead on key tasks/projects associated with the delivery of effective community services, working collaboratively with key partners.
- Analyse data and write reports adapted to the audience.
The postholder will have a comprehensive induction and of our Children and Young People Service Directorate and be welcomed by a supportive group of leaders.

This high-level overview shows we are in a healthy position, with higher scores than average for comparable organisations, alongside a great response rate, indicating good staff engagement. However, we also know we have plenty of room for improvement in many areas. To that end, we continue to prioritise and invest in our commitment to genuinely becoming a Great Place to Work with consistent top-quartile performance in the annual staff survey and Pulse surveys.
