Description 
The Gloucestershire Constabulary Scenes of Crime Department are looking to recruit a Scenes of Crime Team Leader and Crime Scene Manager, to join the Forensic Management Team.

As per the job description, the role includes:

Attendance at crime scenes, both volume and serious, to perform forensic examinations.
Oversight and management of complex, serious and major crime scenes, to include production and documentation of forensic strategy to maximise evidential recovery and minimise contamination; assessing the requirement for and management of specialists and teams who may support an examination; providing oversight and support re forensic submissions and ensuring the quality of the forensic response to incidents across the Force.
It should be noted that the dynamic and operational nature of this role and the responsibility for the forensic management of scenes and/or investigations, supporting the investigation of high risk incidents and serious / major crime, means that there will be requirements for individuals to demonstrate flexibility to the needs of the role, which could include the need to work additional hours or short notice changes to their duties.

Participation in on call rotas, as both a SOCO and SOCO Manager, which may include periods of standby on rest days.
Line management of a team of Scenes of Crime Officer, including caring for their welfare and safety; implementation of training plans; reviews of work, portfolios and evidence, as well as assessment of competence; reviews of performance and ensuring adherence to Force policies and procedures and maintaining the high standards expected by the organisation.
Support of the ongoing work towards securing and maintaining ISO 17020 Accreditation and Compliance to the FSR’s Codes, taking on the responsibilities of a Deputy Technical Manager, to include development and review of in house processes and procedures; ensuring implementation and adherence to both local and national standards and processes; and the investigation of non-compliances in the quality management system.
The individual will be expected to demonstrate a strategic perspective, taking into account the wider impact and implications of their individual actions and decisions, and the work of the Scenes of Crime Department, and how this could then impact on investigations / the organisational reputation / other departments / partner agencies.
Completion and oversight of administrative tasks, to support the day to day running of the Scenes of Crime Department, and to ensure the quality of the service we deliver and our forensic product.
Essential: The successful applicant must have completed both a Mod 1 and Mod 2 Training course, as well as any internal training plans and any associated post-course work and portfolios of evidence. They will have significant experience of dealing with complex, serious and major crime scenes.

Highly Desirable: The successful applicant will have completed a Crime Scene Managers Course, as as-well as any associated post-course work and/or portfolios of evidence. The successful applicant will have significant experience in the forensic management of scenes relates to complex, serious and major crime, as well as the completion of forensic strategy and forensic submission work.

The successful candidate for this role will be vetted at level Staff RV. This means the individual will need at least 3 years worth of residency in the UK.
