About Us

Llanthony Secunda Priory boasts Grade I and Grade II listed buildings and 5 acres of picturesque
grounds. It is one of Gloucester’s most stunning landmarks and is located beside the city’s historic
docks. Our unique venue offers both indoor and outdoor spaces perfect for weddings, exclusive hire,
concerts, private celebrations and corporate events.

The Opportunity

Initially funded by a three-year National Lottery Heritage Fund grant, we are looking for a motivated
and organised CEO to lead/direct the Priory site in Gloucester, manage its key organisational
functions and to contribute to the long-term growth and sustainability of the Trust.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Work actively with the Board to set and implement strategic decisions and planning.
  • Income Generation and Financial Sustainability: Oversee commercial activities and fundraising to ensure the ongoing sustainability of the Trust. Creating and managing budgets.
  • Operational Management: Provide leadership through line managing the Operations Manager, ensuring all operational duties are delivered.
  • Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with the Board, employees, stakeholders, heritage bodies and funders.
  • Risk Management/Governance: Ensure good governance, compliance and all legal requirements of the Trust are met.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Leadership: A proven track record in staff/team management.
  • Financial & Commercial Acumen: Ability to successfully manage commercial activities and to identify fundraising opportunities to strengthen the charity's future.
  • Ability to create and maintain relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail

Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
