EXPERIENCED WOOD MACHINIST – PERMANENT FULL-TIME

We are an established furniture manufacturer based in Cheltenham. We manufacture both
bespoke and standard product and are looking to recruit an experienced wood machinist for
our busy Frame Shop.

Job role key duties will include:

• Machining wood to company standards and specifications to produce high quality furniture pieces/components – some tasks may involve repetitive actions due to production workflow as this will dictate the number of components required in a single job
• Adjusting, trimming, inspecting wood
• Knowledge in the use of a variety of workshop equipment such as panel, band, crosscut saws, 4-edge cutter and spindle mortice is essential

• Material handling of raw timber
• Manual handling
• Cleaning and inspection of workshop tools and machinery
• Experience of working with show-wood furniture
• Performing all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations, including the wearing of PPE supplied by the Company

Skills required:

• Ability to read, understand and work to technical drawings / instructions
• Good practical skills
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to focus with good levels of concentration
• Maths skills to make calculations and take measurements

Experience:

• At least 3 years practical furniture making experience is required

Offering:

• 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays
• Pension Scheme
• Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm Mon-Thurs and 8:00am to 1:00pm Friday
• Rate of pay: £16.00 per hour
• Overtime (when available)
• On site parking (car and bicycle)
