Full-time, permanent · Monday–Thursday 7:30am–4:30pm, Friday 7:30am–1:30pm

JGB Engineering is a Gloucestershire-based metal fabricator with 30+ years' experience, designing and building bespoke metalwork in mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium for commercial, industrial and construction clients across the UK.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be proficient across both MIG and TIG welding, with strong fabrication skills across sheet metal, metal profiles and sections, and assembly.

Our work is genuinely varied — from catering units, including our double 32ft units for Wembley Stadium, to structural steelwork and bespoke fabrication across sectors like hospitality, the MOD, the NHS and data centres so no two jobs are quite the same.

The successful applicant will have a solid understanding of mechanical principles and basic maths to support precise work, and the chance to develop through our structured career pathway and skills framework.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding, and other techniques as required, across mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium on sheet metal, metal profiles and sections
• Fabricate components according to engineering drawings and specifications
• Use hand tools, power tools and welding equipment safely and efficiently
• Assist in assembling fabricated parts into finished units and structures
• Measure, cut and shape materials with precision to meet project requirements, working alongside our in-house CNC bending and punching
• Conduct quality checks on finished work to ensure it meets our quality and finish standards
• Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times

Skills

• Proficiency in both MIG and TIG welding, to a high standard of quality and finish
• Strong fabrication skills, with experience across sheet metal, metal profiles and sections
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools and welding equipment
• Mechanical knowledge with an understanding of assembly processes
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately
• Basic maths skills for measurement, marking out and quality control
• Experience across a range of fabrication materials and techniques mild steel, stainless and aluminium — is desirable
• Good organisational skills, attention to detail and safety awareness

What we offer

• £15–18 per hour, depending on skills and experience
• Overtime paid at time and a half
• Early finish at 1:30pm every Friday
• 20 days' holiday plus bank holidays, rising to 23 days after 2 years and 25 days after 5 years all in addition to bank holidays
