Job Description Salary: up to £35,000 depending on experience Location: New Mills, Wotton-under-Edge, GL12 8JR (Global HQ) Renishaw's Additive Manufacturing (AM) Group in Gloucestershire is seeking an AM Operator to support the day-to-day operations of its advanced manufacturing area. Additive Manufacturing is a technique that builds parts layer by layer, utilising a high-powered fibre laser to melt fine metallic powder into a fully formed 3D object. As an AM Operator, you’ll work closely with the AM4ALL engineering team to operate AM machines and oversee the downstream processes that follow. You’ll play a key role in ensuring precision and efficiency in the manufacturing workflow. The AM4ALL team serves as an additive manufacturing process within Renishaw providing additive manufactured parts into Renishaw product designs. Renishaw’s is using it cutting-edge AM technologies in a real-world manufacturing setting, where components move seamlessly from CAD design through additive manufacturing, heat treatment, post-machining, hand finishing, and final inspection. About the role Day to day running of the AM machines Sieve and load the metal powder into the required machines Prepare the process inert gas filters and replace as required Maintaining the wet vacuums systems Removal of AM components from the build platform (Wire EDM/Bandsaw) Heat treatment and post processing of AM components (Hand finishing, powder removal etc) Liaising with Engineers to resolve any issues Contribute to and foster best practice in the operation of the AM process Maintaining a tidy work area ready for frequent Customer and Visitor tours About you Demonstrable manual dexterity and practical hands-on skills, being particularly competent with the use of hand tools Comfortable completing physical and manual tasks within an engineering environment Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as being able to work within a team Understanding of the requirement to follow procedures in order to maintain high standards of health and safety Proficient with the use of a PC and able to show attention to detail with record keeping skills Desirable requirements Previous experience in operating Additive Manufacturing machines, or within a similar engineering/machining environment Location The role will be based at our New Mills site, Gloucestershire with potential of relocation aligned with business needs to other UK manufacturing sites.
