Studio Assistant

Job Summary

We are looking for new Pottery Painting Studio Assistants to join our fantastic, hard working team.
Please note that this is NOT a painting job and therefore art skills are not required.

Must be 18 years old or over and must have hospitality experience.

The role will entail working with customers and helping to manage the day-to-day organisational needs in our creative, family-friendly, fast-paced, pottery painting studio.

This position would initially require 2 days a week, and must be able to work weekends, evenings, and be fully flexible on shift patterns.

The job is about giving the customer a great painting experience. We are looking for someone who is a fast learner, a creative problem solver, and is above all a people person. You must love babies, children, adults and pets!

Responsibilities and Duties

You will be expected to instruct painters, glaze pottery, load and unload kilns, make and serve refreshments, as well as clean up and maintain the studio.

You will also speak with customers on the telephone answering queries and taking bookings, take money and card payments and use the artwork tracking system.

A large part of the job is ensuring the studio is clean and well maintained.

Other duties include, but will not be limited to, running parties and other events, unpacking stock shipments and opening and closing the studio.

Qualifications and Skills

You must enjoy working with children and adults.

Have good time management skills.

Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Be able to work flexible schedules including all school holidays.

Be able to demonstrate initiative.

Be able to follow written and oral instructions and complete tasks as assigned.

Have basic maths skills and tidy handwriting.

Present a family friendly appearance and attitude at all times.
