Job summary
Join our team of band six pharmacists, in a friendly and supportive department split between Cheltenham General and Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
Our rotational band six pharmacist roles involve rotation through a range of pharmacy services and clinical specialties. As a rotational band six pharmacist you will contribute to the pharmacy service provided by: dispensary, medicines information, aseptic manufacturing and specialist teams in mental health and cancer services.
Clinical rotations will be through a wide variety of clinical specialties, aimed at providing pharmacists exposure to a broad experience of clinical pharmacy to support future career development.
Band six pharmacists participate in a structured programme to further develop their skills and undertake a post graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent qualifications such as RPS credentialling including the opportunity to undertake the non-medical prescribing qualification. An in-house mentoring programme is provided to support the development of junior pharmacists.
You will participate in late night, weekend, bank holiday and on-call pharmacy services (at either Gloucestershire Royal or Cheltenham General site depending on service need)

The pharmacy department has approximately 240 staff. The 2 sites (Cheltenham General and Gloucestershire Royal) provide dispensary services to inpatients & outpatients, medicines information, procurement services and full clinical service to wards.
Pharmacy is at the forefront of many exciting projects including an award-winning service provided by pharmacist prescribers in orthopaedic pre-admission clinic.
We are a friendly, inclusive department who nurture and develop our staff at all grades, from a mentoring programme for band 6 pharmacists to the development of pharmacist prescribers.
