Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a globally recognised multidisciplinary consultancy in their search for a Senior Town Planner to join their Bristol team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Town Planner to join one of the UK's leading planning consultancies, working on major infrastructure and development projects across sectors including Energy, Transport, Utilities, Ports & Harbours, and Buildings. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-profile projects within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
THE ROLE
As a Senior Town Planner, you will support and lead planning projects across a range of sectors and markets, working within multidisciplinary teams across the wider business.
You will contribute to project delivery, strategic planning advice, and client management while continuing to develop your expertise as a Senior Town Planner within a consultancy at the forefront of sustainable infrastructure and development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Acting as Planning Lead or supporting lead on projects across multiple sectors
Managing planning applications, consenting strategies, and project delivery
Supporting bid preparation, tender submissions, and framework responses
Acting within multidisciplinary project teams across planning, engineering, and environmental disciplines
Preparing high-quality planning reports and supporting documentation
Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues within the planning team
Building and maintaining strong client relationships
Supporting business development and growth opportunities
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
RTPI accredited degree in Planning or related discipline
MRTPI qualified or working towards Chartership
Experience within a planning consultancy or infrastructure environment
Strong understanding of Strategic Planning and Planning Policy
Knowledge of TCPA, DCO, TWAO, or equivalent consenting regimes
Understanding of the Environmental Impact Assessment process desirable
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Strong organisational and project management abilities
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Self-motivated, proactive, and commercially aware approach
