Join us as a Planning Enforcement Officer and play a key role in protecting the unique character and natural beauty of the Cotswold District. Working from our Cirencester office, you'll be part of a supportive Planning Services team dedicated to safeguarding our landscapes, heritage assets and communities. You'll manage your own varied caseload of planning enforcement investigations, helping to resolve breaches of planning control and supporting the wider Development Management and Enforcement Service as a valued and trusted team member.
We're looking for someone with solid life skills, sound judgement and the confidence to deal with complex or sensitive situations. Perhaps you've worked in compliance, a planning team, or another role involving investigations, negotiation or public engagement. If you're an effective communicator, comfortable working independently, and able to gather and present evidence clearly and logically, we'd be pleased to hear from you. You'll also need to be organised, proactive, and capable of engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.

You will need
• 3 A Levels (or equivalent)
• GCSEs (5 graded 9-4 or equivalent, including Maths and English)
• Experience of Planning Enforcement or other relevant experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent level of IT skills
• Proven experience dealing with the public with excellent negotiation skills
Special Conditions
• Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for work purposes
