A185C Maintenance Plumber

A185C Maintenance Plumber

Gloucestershire

Looking for a plumbing role that gives you a better work-life balance?

Join our College Estates team as a Maintenance Plumber and put your plumbing and heating expertise to work in a role that offers something increasingly valuable in the industry — set working hours, paid annual leave and a stable working environment.

You'll support our College sites by carrying out planned and reactive plumbing and heating maintenance, fault finding and repairs, as well as supporting smaller installation projects. Your work will help ensure our buildings are safe, efficient and well maintained for students and staff.

A role designed around your work-life balance

If you're an experienced plumber who is ready to move away from unpredictable hours, call-outs or contractor-based work, this could be the opportunity you're looking for.

You'll work Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm, giving you predictable working hours and your evenings and weekends back.

You'll also benefit from:

  • 27 days' annual leave every year (increasing to 32 days’ after 5 years’ service)
  • The option to buy an additional 5 days' holiday
  • Bank Holidays and College Christmas Closure in addition to your annual leave
  • People's Pension, including an employer contribution of 4-5%
  • A stable, professional working environment within a College setting
  • The opportunity to use your industry experience while enjoying a more predictable working week

About you

We're looking for a qualified and experienced plumbing professional who takes pride in delivering high-quality maintenance work.

You'll have:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing, Heating or Mechanical Engineering
  • A good understanding of health and safety when working with building services and plant
  • Level 2 English and maths, or a willingness to achieve these
  • Practical experience in plumbing, heating, maintenance, repairs and fault finding

Most importantly, you'll be someone who takes pride in their work, works safely and professionally, and enjoys providing a reliable service to colleagues and the wider College community.

Ready for a better work-life balance?

If you're looking to take your plumbing career in a new direction — with set Monday-to-Friday hours, paid holiday, pension benefits and no requirement for weekend working — we'd love to hear from you.
