Job summary
The post holder will acquire and maintain a high level of professional competence in the performance of all tests, investigations and measurements carried out under the band 6 remit. They will be expected to interpret and act upon results of tests, investigations and measurements in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
The post holder will work in a multidisciplinary team that includes other cardiac physiologists, assistant cardiac practitioners, radiographers, consultants and medical staff, nursing staff and all other personnel either hospital or externally based.
Partake in PCI & to participate in the 24/7 PPCI on call rota as required.
The Trust provides an extensive follow-up service for all devices and includes a well-established remote follow-up service. The remote service has been expanded and developed during the Covid-19 pandemic.The successful candidate will be expected to rotate through both the Non - invasive and the invasive sections of the department. They will be autonomous is a variety of diagnostic investigations and will be offered training to increase their skills and knowledge accordingly.
The Cardiac Services are located on one site at the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with a 3rd lab opened in January 2025, with a view to delivering EP locally.
To assist in the responsibility for stock control ensuring levels are maintained appropriately.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will perform a range of both invasive & non-invasive Cardiac Investigations. They will work in both the Cardiology investigations department and the three intervention Cardiac catheter labs where a full range of both PCI and Pacemaker / Devices procedures are undertaken.
The successful candidate will work autonomously at the Band 6 level and will be supported to attain their Professional qualifications accordingly.
The post holder will partake on the PPCI 24/7 on call rota.
