Digital & Community Projects Manager

Digital & Community Projects Manager

Cinderford

Hours: 30–37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday (some evenings/weekends may be required) Flexible and part-time/job share arrangements considered.
Contract: Initial 18-month contract (extension subject to funding and performance)
Location: Ow Bist Forest Community Space, Cinderford

Do you believe that everyone deserves to be connected? Are you passionate about the power of communities to shape their own futures?

FVAF is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Digital & Community Projects Manager to join our growing team in the heart of the Forest of Dean. This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to lead meaningful, place-based work that makes a real difference — helping people and communities thrive through digital inclusion, local partnerships, and strengths-based engagement.

The Role

You’ll take the lead on a portfolio of digital inclusion and community-based projects, including the Gloucestershire Digi Hubs programme, the Forest of Dean Digital Inclusion Programme, and wider DIGI Partnership activity. Working closely with our Community Team Manager and the wider FVAF team, you’ll ensure our programmes are impactful, well-managed, and genuinely responsive to the communities we serve.

Day-to-day, you can expect to:

• Design and deliver sustainable digital inclusion projects tailored to local needs
• Build and sustain partnerships with residents, voluntary groups, statutory services, and local councils
• Manage project budgets, monitoring, and reporting to demonstrate real community impact
• Expand access to digital devices, connectivity, and skills — building people’s confidence online
• Champion FVAF and the Forest of Dean in countywide and regional digital inclusion forums
• Collaborate with our Communications & Fundraising Manager on funding applications and storytelling
• Coordinate community events and support our Community Hubs across the district

Who We’re Looking For

You’ll be someone who genuinely cares about communities and brings energy, creativity, and commitment to everything you do. We’re looking for:

• Proven project management experience, ideally in the community or voluntary sector
• Strong relationship-building skills — with residents, partners, and colleagues alike
• A solid understanding of digital inclusion and the barriers people face
• Knowledge of the voluntary and community sector in the Forest of Dean
• Experience using co-production or lived-experience approaches in project design
• Excellent communication skills, with confidence presenting to diverse audiences
• Strong organisational ability and a knack for managing competing priorities
• A flexible, proactive attitude and a commitment to FVAF’s values
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle

It would also be great (but not essential) if you have experience with funding applications, digital equipment management, procurement, or cyber security frameworks.
