Job summary
An opportunity has arisen to recruit a Project Manager to join the Gloucestershire Hospitals Foundation Trust's Ophthalmology service line within the surgical division on a 12-month fixed term basis. The Project Manager will be expected to lead the design and implementation phases of specialty improvement initiatives to support the delivery of the local and national objectives and deliver specific projects in defined areas.
The post holder will be expected to work closely with Clinical and Operational teams to jointly design, test and embed change. The projects will range in size and scale and will be determined by the priorities of the organisation but will allow for a broad insight to the operations and governance of the division.
The role allows for the individual to network with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, building and maintaining important relationships, and working creatively and dynamically. They will work within an experienced multi-disciplinary team that are supportive and encouraging and offer a good collaborative team ethic. There are opportunities available for development and progression within the Trust largely supported by the team and line management.
Main duties of the job
This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager to join a team leading on a major transformation programme including a wide variety of local and national ambitions to improve services. The post holder will be responsible for delivering appropriate project documentation and delivering progress updates across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring milestones are met and risks mitigated and/or managed where possible. Therefore, the individual will need the ability to work under pressure and respond to short timescales.
They must be credible, flexible and innovative, with project and change management skills, developed in healthcare or other fast-moving environments. The role will require good planning and organisational skills, specifically the development of clear and pragmatic plans for delivering complex projects. Given the nature of the projects, experience of the service line is desirable.
