Our client, a well-established Gloucestershire business working within the public sector, has an exciting new opportunity for a Procurement Officer to join their team on a temporary basis due to Christmas peak in hours.
The successful Procurement Officer should have:
* A background in contract management, procurement or local government
* Good communication and negotiation skills
* The ability to read and manipulate data to draw insights and recommendations from it
* Ideally previous knowledge of public sector procurement policies, systems and procedures, with focus on legislation and regulations
In this role, the Procurement Officer will be responsible for:
* Supporting or leading on tender activity for multiple departments within the business
* Providing external and internal stakeholders with pragmatic and informed advice
* Meeting targeting and timescale demands whilst staying within budget
* Undertaking market research and client engagement to advance commercial thinking
