About The Role
We are looking for a proactive individual to join our busy trading team at Slimbridge Wetland Centre.
The successful applicant will provide a warm and informative welcome to all our visitors and will work to maximise sales and membership recruitment. You will have a passion for exceptional customer service, and will contribute to the delivery of agreed targets, helping generate profits that support the conservation work of WWT.
This 5 hour post, covering weekend working, mainly in our retail shop area where you will be serving both members and non-member visitors, whilst keeping our shop fully stocked and offering assistance to visitors on optics sales. Full optics training will be provided.
When visiting our website, you will notice the position is referred to as Trading Assistant. This is how the role is known internally at WWT.
About You
You will:
- Have excellent customer service skills
- Accurate and responsible cash handling
- Have the ability to manage and respond to customer feedback as appropriate
You will ideally have:
- Experience of working in a trading/commercial environment
- Experience of working in a team
- Experience of working with an EPOS till system (full training will be given)
- Experience of working with a food safety management system (FSMS)
- Experience of handling cash
