Swimming Teacher - Dean Close Swim School

Dean Close Foundation are looking for a Swim Teacher for Dean Close School. As a swimming instructor your primary role is teaching people of all ages and abilities to learn or develop swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water.
The role requires supporting a safe and secure environment for children, students, staff and visitors to The Dean Close Foundation. Other roles and responsibilities are to include:
- Deliver high quality lessons in a safe and nurturing environment.
- You must assess each swimmers’ needs and abilities to the best of your professional experience and work appropriately with them as individuals.
- Keep your work area on poolside tidy; ensuring pool rules are adhered to and always be alert & aware while supervising your group.
- Know your swimmers. You will be required to write short reports at the end of each term for every swimmer so it's important to know who you are reporting on. Note any issues or changes and regularly update Swim School managers on your groups/individuals.
- Assess Ability/Stages. Dean Close Swim School use their own slightly adapted variation of Swim England Stages. You will be expected to be aware of these when teaching lessons and assessing swimmers, essentially ensuring that prior to moving a swimmer up a group they have achieved the criteria on numerous occasions before staging up.
We are looking for experienced candidates who have previously worked with a School pool or similar environment. Ideally, we would like candidates to apply who hold a valid Pool Plant Operator Certificate and NPLQ qualification or are willing to undertake training toward this for the role.
