At Cheltenham Ladies’ College, we aim to provide a strong support network for every
one of our pupils. Around 650 students will board with us in one of our 11 Sixth Form
and Junior Boarding Houses and your role will be at the heart of our pastoral care as
you join one of the dedicated, professional teams working under the direction of a
Houseparent.

In addition to looking after our students’ wellbeing, you will help with the day-to-day
running of the house. You may have experience in a similar role, but it is not
essential. We are interested in those who can demonstrate a genuine interest in the
development and welfare of young people, have common sense, a flexible attitude
and enjoy working as part of a team. Full training will be given.

College itself combines a rich heritage with an exciting future. Approximately 830
pupils from 40 countries across the world benefit from the knowledge and expertise
gained over the last 170 years. Driven by innovation and challenge, we prepare our
pupils to achieve their full potential in a complex and changing world.

To be considered for the role of Deputy Houseparent, you will have the ability to
supervise, encourage and motivate staff and to mentor and support pupils in the
house. You will deputise for the Houseparent in their absence and will be responsible
for assisting in the smooth running of the House together with coordinating and
prioritising work schedules and delegating effectively to the team. Excellent
administrative skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working
relationships are a must and an academic background is desirable.

Closing date for receipt of applications is 12.30pm, 2 March 2026.
Interviews will be held in the week commencing 9 March 2026.

Applications will be considered as they are received, and College reserves the right to appoint at any time in the process.

We welcome female applicants only as this is a girls’ boarding school. This is a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with schedule 9, part 1 of the Equality Act.

Cheltenham Ladies & College is committed to the safeguarding of children.
