Nursery Cook

Winton house Day Nursery is a homely, privately run, caring nursery providing care for children under 5 years.

We provide home cooked meals throughout the day and are looking for a Nursery Cook to join our team.

The position will involve home cooking for up to 45 children daily and preparation of snacks. The role also involves washing up and cleaning down the kitchen area, following our allergen control policy and ensuring all dietary requirements are met. The nursery cook is responsible for the weekly food order, stock control and management of the menu, ingredients, and portion sizes.

Essential experience:

• Catering experience, menu planning and safe food storage
• Experience in preparing and serving food for children with allergies and special dietary requirements.
• Experience catering for children and/or working in a kitchen based in a nursery, school, care home or hospital.
• Knowledge of working with safer food better business.
• Experience with environmental health.

Qualifications:

• Level 2 or above food hygiene
• Food allergy awareness.
