At Chosen Hill School, we are proud of our inclusive ethos and our commitment to ensuring that all students receive the support they need to flourish academically, socially and emotionally. As the number of students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) continues to grow, we are creating an exciting new role within our highly regarded Inclusion Team.

We are seeking an exceptional EHCP & SEND Caseworker who is passionate about championing the needs of young people with additional needs and who can build strong relationships with families, staff and external agencies.

This is a unique opportunity to become a key figure in our SEND provision, helping to ensure that EHCPs are implemented effectively and that our students receive the high-quality support they deserve.

You will coordinate and oversee the implementation of EHCP provision across the school, acting as a central point of contact for students, families, staff and external professionals.

Chosen Hill School is a successful and popular secondary school serving the community of Churchdown and the wider Gloucester area. We are ambitious for every student and place inclusion, belonging and achievement at the heart of everything we do.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Managing a caseload of students with EHCPs.
• Coordinating annual reviews and ensuring statutory deadlines are met.
• Monitoring provision and progress against EHCP outcomes.
• Supporting students and families throughout their SEND journey.
• Working closely with educational psychologists, therapists, health professionals and local authority colleagues.
• Promoting inclusive practice and helping to drive continuous improvement in SEND provision across the school.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience of working with children and young people with SEND.
• Understands the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes.
• Is highly organised and able to manage competing priorities.
• Communicates confidently and compassionately with families and professionals.
• Can analyse information, identify solutions and drive actions forward.
• Is committed to achieving the very best outcomes for young people.
• Experience within a secondary school setting or knowledge of Gloucestershire SEND systems would be advantageous but is not essential

Joining us means becoming part of:

• A welcoming and supportive staff team.
• A thriving and forward-thinking Inclusion Department.
• A school that genuinely values SEND and pastoral support.
• A culture of professional trust, collaboration and development.
• A role where you can have a measurable impact on student outcomes and family experiences.

We offer:

• A meaningful role with significant impact.
• Flexible part-time working arrangements.
• Access to professional development opportunities.
• A supportive leadership team committed to staff wellbeing.
• The chance to help shape and develop an important new position within the school.
• Membership to the LGPS pension Scheme
• Termly staff breakfasts
• Free parking
• Employee Assistance programme

If you are passionate about inclusion, enjoy bringing people together and want to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people and their families, we would love to hear from you.

Every child deserves an advocate. Could that be you?

Recruitment Checks

The Headteacher and The Governing Body of Chosen Hill School are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We require all new employees to complete an enhanced level criminal background check through the Disclosure and Barring Service. It is a condition of employment that the employee should not have been convicted of a criminal offence against children, nor have been dismissed, or resigned from, a previous employer for misconduct of a similar nature. Having a criminal record is not necessarily a bar to employment; it will depend on the nature, circumstances and background to the offence.

As part of our due diligence within safer recruitment, school will be carrying out online searches to help identify any incidents or issues which may need to be explored at interview. These searches will include, but will not be limited to, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Google.
