Actual Annual Salary: £7,012 - £7,560 (Based on hours and week worked)

Contract Type: Fixed term until 31/08/2026.
Hours: 10.5 hours per week - Part Time, Term Time Only plus Inset days
Working Pattern: This role is for 10.5 hours per week, working Monday (5.25 hours) and Tuesday (5.25 hours). Days and times can be discussed at interview; however, the hours will be equivalent to two full days.

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work closely with a Year 6 pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The role involves providing targeted support to help the pupil access the curriculum, engage with learning, and achieve their full potential.
You will deliver planned learning activities and interventions under the direction of the class teacher, adapting strategies to meet individual needs and ensuring positive impact on academic progress, social and emotional well-being, and independence. Working closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other professionals, you will play an important part in supporting inclusive practice and contributing to the wider success of the school.

Have experience of, or be willing to embrace, working in a single-form entry school.
Understand classroom roles and responsibilities, and how a Teaching Assistant Level 2 supports students with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) in their learning.
Hold or be working towards a relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent), and be committed to undertaking further training including first aid, safeguarding, and SEND-specific development.
Have GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent).
Be confident in engaging students and managing behaviour on a one-to-one or small group basis, using specialist techniques and strategies.
Have strong interpersonal skills, including empathy, active listening, and the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents/carers.
Be skilled in planning and organising learning activities and support materials tailored to individual needs.
Be confident in working independently under the direction of the class teacher, delivering specific learning activities and interventions.
Be someone with a keen interest in working with children and a commitment to inclusion and acceptance of all.
Be emotionally intelligent, calm under pressure, and able to make sound decisions in challenging situations.
Be flexible, reliable, and able to adapt to changing needs and environments.
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
