Class People are currently recruiting for a Food Technology Teacher job in Cheltenham for a long-term maternity cover position in a secondary school. This Food Technology teaching role is ideal for a qualified secondary teacher looking for a stable, full-time placement from January 2027 for the duration of a one-year maternity cover.

We are working closely with a supportive secondary school in Cheltenham seeking a dedicated Food Technology Teacher who can deliver engaging and well-structured lessons across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. Knowledge of other Design and Technology subjects would be desirable.

This one-year Food Technology Teacher maternity cover offers the opportunity to join a welcoming school community and provide consistency for students throughout the academic year.

Food Technology Teacher Job Responsibilities

As a Food Technology Teacher in Cheltenham, your responsibilities will include:

Delivering engaging Food Technology lessons across KS4 and KS5
Supporting other Design and Technology subjects where required
Planning and delivering lessons aligned with the UK National Curriculum
Supporting students' creativity, practical skills, and confidence
Maintaining strong classroom and behaviour management
Contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment
Assessing and monitoring student progress effectively
Supporting the wider department throughout the maternity cover period
