The Humanities Faculty at Pate’s is a vibrant and dynamic part of our school, bringing together three fascinating disciplines: Geography, History, and Philosophy, Theology & Ethics (PTE).
Each team has a Head of Department and comprises of highly skilled teachers passionate about helping students explore the world through varied and thought-provoking lessons. Many of our teachers share their expertise across multiple departments, creating a rich and interconnected learning experience.
Collaboration is at the heart of the faculty’s ethos: we work together to ensure every lesson is engaging, varied, has pace, and, most importantly, that all students feel comfortable they are making good progress.
At GCSE, we follow the AQA specification for all three subjects, while at A Level, we use AQA for Geography and PTE and OCR for History.
Humanities subjects are among the most popular choices at Key Stage 4 and 5, with almost every student opting for at least one at GCSE and 12 thriving Sixth Form classes. Students have considerable success in these subjects.
Beyond the classroom, we offer a wealth of enrichment opportunities that bring learning to life with students taking part in inspiring experiences and trips.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, dedicated and driven Humanities teacher to join a highly successful and engaging team at Pate’s.
You will be a dynamic, forward thinking, inspiring and energetic teacher, passionate about your
subject. You will have an ongoing interest in the latest pedagogic research and its considered application in a range of academic contexts.
An outstanding classroom practitioner with a real passion for your subject. You will have the ability to excite able students and be able to explain complex ideas with clarity.
