Job summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-driven newly qualified (or awaiting registration) social work professional to join our MCA, CoPDoL & Complex Health Team, supporting the delivery of high-quality, legally robust applications to the Court of Protection. Under the guidance of the Team Lead, you will ensure all documentation is accurate, compliant with the Mental Capacity Act (MCA), and informed by current case law. Youll carry out thorough capacity assessments, provide clear and well-reasoned documentation, and support best-interest decisions with sound professional analysis.
This role calls for flexibility, excellent organisation and the ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards. You will act as a professional point of contact for individuals , families, legal representatives, providers and health and social care colleagues, ensuring communications are accurate. Youll also support reporting requirements for CoPDoLS and contribute to the evolving needs of the service, with opportunities to develop your skills within a dynamic and supportive team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the completion and submission of high quality and robust applications to the Court of Protection. They will have a responsibility to ensure that all documentation is accurate, legally compliant, and reflective of current case law and guidance relating to the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) under the guidance and support of the Complex Health Team Lead.
Carry out comprehensive assessments of capacity in line with the principles of the MCA, clearly documenting findings, rationale for decisions and ensuring all assessments are supported by the relevant best interest decision and professional analysis under the guidance and support of the Complex Health Team Lead.
