Firmware Engineer / Digital Electronics Engineer

Our client is looking for a Firmware Engineer / Digital Electronics Engineer to join
their engineering department. The successful candidate will be welcomed on board a
small engineering team to design and develop bespoke products in a project-based
environment. The core of your work will be developing embedded software for Xilinx
FPGA's (VHDL) and PIC microcontrollers (C, C++).

The ideal candidate will be willing to learn and want long term growth within the
business. The successful applicant will have the relevant electronics experience /

This role is based in Dursley, Gloucestershire. Please note your own transport might
be required, due to the rural nature of this location unless you are living locally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for developing full turn key systems which involves the integration of PIC microprocessors and Xilinx FPG’s.
  • You will need to work to strict customer deadlines and juggle multiple projects.

You must enjoy working in small teams where knowledge is shared, experience
gained, and high-quality solutions delivered to our customers

Essential skills:

  • Formal qualification such as HNC/HND/BEng.
  • Solid experience in FPGA (or ASIC) Design and Verification.
  • Excellent VHDL and C/C++ coding skills.
  • Experience of working with microprocessors, preferable with PIC microprocessors.
  • Ability to derive FPGA architectures & requirements from System requirements.

Desirable Skills

  • Good understanding of analogue and digital circuit designs.
  • Ability to carry out schematic designs.
  • Ability to develop GUI programs for windows-based systems for data acquisition from the developed system.
  • Experience in working with databases.

Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Thursday, with 45 minutes for
lunch and 8:00am to 12:30pm Friday

22 days holiday plus bank holidays, AXA health care scheme, 9% auto enrolment
