IT Director / Head of Technology (Software &IT Infrastructure) - New Role

90,000 - 100,000 + Benefits + Hybrid Working

A leading organisation (of c.250 staff) requires a technically skilled, motivated, and forward-thinking IT Director/Head of Techncology to serve as a technical leader for the IT department and oversee the development, implementation, and management of all technological aspects across the group - to include both software development and IT infrastructure.

This role requires both hands-on technical expertise and strategic oversight to align the department's capabilities with the group's broader operational objectives. Suitable candidates will have the following:

  • Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role, including managing software development, infratrsucture and information security while building and scaling teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud services, enterprise applications, software development and security technologies.
  • Strong experience in web applications development (.Net)
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile, SDLC, ITIL and COBIT frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of data protection regulations, information security standards and cyber risk management.
  • Demonstrable experience leading digital transformation and systems integration projects.

Responsibililties will include:

  • Maintaining and developing existing software solutions/systems.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends, with a particular focus on cyber, AI and automation.
  • Communicating technical strategies, challenges, and achievements.
  • Evaluating and implementing scalable architectural designs.
  • Ensuring robust data management to enable performance management and drive strategic decision-making.
  • Leading technical teams through agile development methodologies.
  • Setting and managing technology budgets.
  • Management of the full IT team including owning future recruitment, development, and retention of staff.
  • Monitoring system performance and reliability.
  • Identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
