Retail Supervisor – Busy DIY & Hardware Store
Cheltenham
Needed: a person with a "can-do" attitude, strong numeric and IT confidence, and the ability
to handle physical tasks. We are looking for a motivated and energetic Retail Supervisor to join
our DIY and hardware store in Cheltenham. If you're ready to lead a team in a hands-on

About the Role: As a Retail Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations in
a busy DIY and hardware store. The ability to handle some lifting, and confidence with IT and
numeric systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, motivate, and support a team of retail assistants, leading by example and creating a positive and efficient work environment.
- Assist with stock management, ensuring shelves are well-stocked and displays are neat and accessible.
- Confidently use IT systems to manage stock, process transactions, and track sales.
- Handle opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and till operations, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Provide customer service, offering advice on DIY and hardware products, and helping customers with any inquiries.
- Ensure the store is clean, safe, and organized, maintaining a high standard of health and safety.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous retail supervisory experience preferred, ideally in a DIY or hardware setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Numeric and IT confident, with experience using POS systems and stock management software.
- Ability to handle some lifting and physical tasks as part of the job.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Flexible availability, including Saturdays.
