This is a hands-on management role overseeing the day-to-day running of the fleet workshop, with responsibility for a team of HGV Technicians, a Workshop Supervisor and an Administrator. * A current HGV Class 2 licence or above, alongside a good understanding of tachograph systems.
* A City & Guilds HGV Parts 1, 2 and 3 qualification, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
* A strong technical understanding of HGV maintenance, including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics and mechanical systems.
* Knowledge of vehicle compliance requirements, ideally including R2C and LOLER inspection systems.

In this role, the Workshop Manager will be responsible for:

* Managing and supporting the workshop team to ensure an efficient, productive and professional service.
* Overseeing vehicle availability, maintenance schedules and workshop labour to minimise vehicle downtime.
* Ensuring fleet maintenance records, vehicle documentation and compliance systems are maintained accurately and completed on time.
* Maintaining high standards of workshop housekeeping, health and safety, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
* Balancing customer service requirements with commercial objectives, providing clear technical guidance and promoting safe working practices.

Our client is offering the successful Workshop Manager a competitive salary, alongside the opportunity to take ownership of a busy fleet workshop supporting operations across Cheltenham and Bristol.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00am-4:30pm, with alternate Saturdays from 7:00am-11:30am.

If you are an experienced workshop professional with strong leadership skills and a solid background in HGV maintenance, apply now to discuss this opportunity further. We want to hear from candidates who can lead a team, maintain high compliance standards and help keep a busy fleet operating efficiently.
