Shurdington is an inclusive and vibrant school with a dedicated, caring team. We are looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our school family. Initially this will be in our Y5 class.

It is a permanent, full time position.

At Shurdington positive relationships are at the heart of all that we do and we are looking for someone to join our ‘Shurdy family’ who can quickly develop these meaningful relationships with all stakeholders.

We are looking for someone who:
- Is calm, patient, and understanding, with a genuine passion for working with children.
- Can bring positivity to the classroom.
- Is flexible and resilient, ready to embrace the variety each day brings.
- Works well as part of a team and values collaboration.
- Is willing to model and promote our core Christian values.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Work with children to help them develop confidence and independence.
- Work closely with teachers and other staff to provide tailored support to children with additional needs.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Adapt and deliver learning activities to suit individual pupils.
- Understand a range of positive behaviour strategies and be able to implement these effectively.

Experience with SEN or relevant qualifications is desirable but not essential—we value the right attitude and willingness to learn.

Shurdington has an excellent reputation for positively supporting our whole school family. We can offer:
- A welcoming, supportive team that loves what they do.
- Opportunities for professional development and growth.
- A school community that values staff well-being and work-life balance.

Visits to the school are warmly encouraged.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff, and volunteers, to share the same commitment. This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
