We are seeking to appoint a skilled and reflective Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team, supporting high-quality teaching and learning across the school. This role is particularly suited to an individual with experience of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, who is committed to inclusive practice and ensuring that every child can flourish.
The successful candidate will play a key role in covering PPA time across year groups, delivering well-structured lessons and maintaining strong classroom routines. They will work closely with class teachers to support planning and assessment, and adapt learning to meet a wide range of needs, including those requiring targeted or personalised provision.
This opportunity would suit a former teacher or an Early Career Teacher who wishes to develop their expertise further before moving into a full class teaching role. It offers valuable experience in leading learning, deepening pedagogical understanding, and working across different phases.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has strong experience of supporting pupils with SEND and a clear understanding of inclusive strategies
- Demonstrates confidence in leading whole-class teaching during PPA cover
- Builds positive, respectful relationships with pupils and colleagues
- Is reflective, proactive, and committed to continual professional development
In return, we offer a supportive and collaborative environment where staff are valued and encouraged to grow. This role aligns closely with our school vision: together we shine brightly and together we make a difference. The successful candidate will contribute meaningfully to this vision by ensuring that every child is known, supported, and enabled to succeed.
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a dedicated team and to make a lasting difference in the lives of our pupils.
The post is offered as a salary of Grade 5 on a permanent basis.
This is a fixed term post for 1.0 FTE hours a week. The start date is 1 September 2026.
Closing date for applications is 24 June 2026 at midday. Interviews will be w/c 29 June.
This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff, and volunteers, to share the same commitment. This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
