Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant Required – 1:1 Support Role

Class People are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a part-time role within a supportive school in the Forest of Dean.

This position will involve working predominantly on a 1:1 basis with one pupil, providing tailored support both academically and emotionally, primarily outside of the main classroom environment.

The school is looking for a calm, patient, and consistent individual who can build a strong relationship with the pupil and provide a structured and supportive approach throughout the school day.

About the Role

As an Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support a pupil with additional needs who benefits from focused support outside of the classroom setting. The role will involve helping the pupil engage with learning, manage emotions, and develop confidence within school life.

You will work closely with teaching staff and SENCOs to provide consistent support and adapt activities to meet the pupil’s individual needs.

Key Responsibilities
Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
Work primarily outside of the classroom in a structured learning environment
Support emotional regulation, engagement, and positive behaviour
Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
Build a strong and supportive relationship with the pupil
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and wider school staff
Candidate Requirements
Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant
Experience supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis
A calm, resilient, and patient approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Confidence supporting pupils with additional emotional or behavioural needs
A genuine passion for supporting children within education

Salary: £110.00-£125.00 Per Day

Hours Per Week: 15 Hours (Roughly)
