Teaching Assistant / Higher Level Teaching Assistant (SEMH)

Educational, Knowledge and Experience
Essential:
- Successful work with children
- Demonstrable commitment to own continued professional development
- Demonstrable experience of interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Good ICT skills
Desirable:
- KS3 or KS4 classroom experience
- Experience of working with students with ASD or SEMH needs (may occasionally need to lift CYP from time to time)
- First Aid trained, or willingness to undertake training
Core Competencies and Skills Include:
- Knowledge of various neurodivergent conditions, such as ASC and ADHD, coupled with a deep sense of empathy to understand their perspective
- Patience and a calm, non-reactive demeanor essential for building trust and managing challenging situations
- Ability to tailor communication styles to the individual, using clear language and active listening
- Skilled in helping young people with emotional regulation, providing a safe space for processing feelings and learning coping strategies
- Flexibility and creativity for adapting to individual needs
Skills in:

- Trauma-informed practice
- Holistic, well-being-focused approaches
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively with colleagues
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries

Salary: £25,000 Gross pa
