Class People are proud to be working in partnership with a number of supportive and forward-thinking schools across Gloucester who are seeking experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to join their teams.
This is an excellent opportunity for qualified or highly experienced Teaching Assistants ready to take the next step in their career, with increased responsibility including leading lessons and supporting whole-class learning.
The Role
As a HLTA, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You will be required to work both independently and alongside teaching staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences.
Your responsibilities may include:
Delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
Leading small group interventions and targeted support sessions
Supporting pupils with SEN, including implementing EHCP targets
Monitoring and recording pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
Supporting behaviour management in line with school policies
Assisting with lesson planning and resource preparation
Contributing to a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for candidates who:
Hold HLTA status or have significant experience in a similar role
Have strong classroom management skills and confidence leading a class
Have experience supporting pupils with SEN and additional needs
Are adaptable, proactive and able to work independently
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Are committed to supporting pupil progress and wellbeing
Experience in the following areas would be advantageous:
Delivering interventions in literacy and numeracy
Supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD or SEMH needs
Working across different key stages
Speech and language support or use of alternative communication methods
