Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs?
Class People are currently looking for a dedicated SEN Learning Partner to join a welcoming and supportive school in Stroud. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with pupils, understands the importance of individualised support and wants to make a genuine difference to a child's school experience.
The Role
As an SEN Learning Partner, you will provide consistent 1:1 support to a pupil, helping them engage with learning and develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
You will become an important part of the pupil's school day, working alongside teachers and the wider SEN team to understand their individual needs and provide the right support to help them succeed.
The role will include:
• Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
• Helping the pupil access lessons and participate in classroom activities
• Building a strong, positive relationship with the pupil
• Encouraging independence, confidence and engagement
• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
• Helping the pupil overcome barriers to learning
• Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team
• Following individual learning and support plans
• Monitoring progress and communicating effectively with school staff
• Supporting the pupil's academic, social and emotional development
About You
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is patient, adaptable and genuinely passionate about working with children who require additional support.
Previous experience working with SEN is desirable, particularly experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs. However, we are also interested in hearing from Teaching Assistants and education professionals who have the right attitude and a strong desire to develop their SEN experience.
