Higher Level Teaching Assistant
The Governors of The Croft Primary School are looking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at this happy and successful school. The post is for 3 days per week. This post will initially be fixed term until 31 Aug 2026. This is a varied and rewarding role, working as part of a team supporting the class teachers in delivering a high-quality curriculum.
The successful candidate will need to:
• Plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality learning experiences in Maths and Science.
• Support teaching and learning in classrooms, including some whole-class cover.
• Work collaboratively with teachers to raise attainment and progress.
• Provide targeted intervention and support for individuals and small groups.
We’re looking for someone who has:
• HLTA status (or equivalent qualification/experience)
• excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• confidence and experience in leading learning independently
• a good understanding of SEND alongside high expectations
• the ability to work collaboratively with staff and be an excellent team player
• a calm flexible approach, and the ability to be flexible and use initiative
• excellent knowledge and understanding of the needs of KS2 children and how to effectively support and extend their learning and promote their well-being
• a willingness to encourage and support the children in becoming resilient, compassionate and responsible citizens.
