Tirlebrook Primary School is seeking to appoint dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Partner to join our team - the role is temporary in the first instance. We are looking for someone who can bring warmth, kindness, energy and high expectations to our team. Within the role, there will be opportunities to support children with accessing learning within an inclusive classroom environment, as well as delivering PPA cover for class teachers; the role will also involve occasional cover for class teachers.
Tirlebrook Primary School is a community-oriented school where children are nurtured to be ambitious so they can fulfil their potential. From September, Tirlebrook will be a 6-class school (with on-site governor-led nursery) with mixed age classes across our Early Years and Key Stage 1 and single-year classes in Key Stage 2.
As an HLTP, you will:
• support pupils’ learning across a range of subjects and year groups
• provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups of pupils, including those with additional needs
• assist in planning, preparing and adapting learning activities
• deliver planned lessons and lead whole classes to cover teacher planning, preparation and assessment (PPA) time
• deliver planned lessons and lead whole classes in the absence of a class teacher
• support the implementation of nurturing and stimulating classroom environments
• inspire children
• promote positive behaviour
• contribute towards the wider life of the school, i.e. through leading an after school extra-curricular club
We are looking for someone who:
• holds the HLTA qualification or is a qualified teacher
• has experience of working within a primary school setting
• is confident with leading whole class teaching
• is an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
• is passionate about supporting all learners
• shows independence and initiative
• works as part of a team
• is committed to safeguarding and the wellbeing of all children
What we can offer:
• opportunities for professional growth and career development
• enthusiastic pupils
• a positive, supportive and collaborative team
• a committed team of staff and governors who are passionate about children’s development and learning
• a culture that prioritises wellbeing and work-life balance
Visits to the school are warmly encouraged and strongly recommended.
Tirlebrook Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to satisfactory enhanced DBS checks and references. As part of our recruitment process, we carry out an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.
