About the Role

Class People are looking to connect with experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) for a range of opportunities across schools in Gloucester.

As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning, with the confidence to lead lessons, cover classes in the absence of a teacher, and provide targeted support to pupils across the curriculum. This is a varied and rewarding role suited to someone who is confident, adaptable, and passionate about supporting pupil progress.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver planned lessons and lead whole-class teaching when required
Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups
Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support curriculum delivery
Contribute to lesson planning and preparation of resources
Support assessment, feedback, and pupil progress tracking
Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Candidate Profile
HLTA status or equivalent experience
Proven experience working within a school setting
Confidence in leading a classroom and managing behaviour
Strong communication and organisational skills
A proactive and flexible approach
