Cricket Coach
Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
Dean Close School are looking to appoint a Cricket Coach to support the delivery and development of cricket across our Prep and Senior Schools. You will work with boys and girls aged 8–18, helping to grow participation, nurture talent, and promote a positive sporting culture. This is a casual coaching contract, working during fixed periods of the academic term.
This is an exciting opportunity for a coach who is passionate about player development, high-quality training, and creating an engaging learning environment.
In this role, you will:
- Support the Director of Cricket in planning and delivering cricket programmes across the Foundation.
- Lead high-quality coaching sessions, including 1:1, small groups, and full squads.
- Coach school teams, assist with team selection, and take responsibility for match-day management.
- Deliver sessions aligned with the Foundation’s coaching philosophy and programme structure.
- Coach both boys’ and girls’ cricket, promoting inclusion and opportunity for all.
- Work with pupils of all abilities, adapting sessions to suit development needs
- Identify and support talented players while ensuring all pupils enjoy their cricket experience.
- Contribute to co‑curricular cricket activities including festivals, tours and school events.
- Support marketing and outreach events with clubs, schools and community partners.
The successful candidate will have experience in coaching Cricket within a school or club environment, and ideally hold an ECB Level 2 coaching qualification.
