Job Purpose:

To support and enhance the quality of teaching, learning, assessment and all professional practice across Bridge Training Ltd through a coaching-led approach. The role will deliver teacher training up to Level 5 and the Assessor Award, while working alongside colleagues across all functions to develop their skills, confidence, knowledge and impact on learner outcomes.

This role is focused on professional growth rather than performance management, embedding a positive culture of reflective practice, continuous improvement, collaboration and lifelong learning. The postholder will support the development of staff capability across the organisation, identifying and nurturing talent, promoting career progression, and ensuring colleagues have access to high-quality coaching, mentoring and professional development opportunities.

Working closely with managers and teams, the role will contribute to workforce development, succession planning and organisational effectiveness, helping staff at all levels maximise their potential and deliver outstanding experiences and outcomes for learners, employers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Teaching & Qualification Delivery

• Deliver engaging and supportive teacher training programmes up to Level 5 (e.g. Certificate/Diploma in Education and Training).
• Deliver and assess the Assessor Award (CAVA or equivalent).
• Facilitate training sessions that model effective teaching, learning and assessment practice.
• Ensure programmes meet awarding body and quality expectations in a supportive, developmental way.

Coaching, Mentoring & Staff Development

• Provide 1:1 coaching and mentoring to tutors, assessors, and new teaching staff.
• Support the induction, confidence, and early development of new teachers.
• Work collaboratively with staff to set realistic, achievable development goals.
• Use coaching techniques to encourage reflection, problem-solving, and ownership of improvement.
• Build positive, trusting relationships that support long-term professional growth.

Teaching, Learning & Practice Development

• Lead and participate in learning walks, teaching observations, work scrutiny activities and quality reviews as part of a supportive and developmental coaching approach.
• Work collaboratively with staff to evaluate and reflect on their practice, recognising strengths, celebrating success and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Provide constructive, evidence-based feedback through coaching and professional dialogue, empowering staff to take ownership of their development and professional growth.
• Support colleagues to implement, evaluate and embed innovative teaching, learning and assessment strategies that enhance learner engagement, participation, achievement and progression.
• Encourage the use of learner feedback, self-assessment, achievement data and reflective practice to inform continuous improvement and enhance learner outcomes.
• Facilitate professional learning workshops and peer-to-peer learning opportunities that promote collaboration, innovation and the sharing of effective practice.
• Identify emerging development needs and provide tailored support, guidance and resources to build staff confidence, capability and professional effectiveness.
• Champion a coaching culture that promotes curiosity, accountability, professional excellence and a commitment to lifelong learning.
• Support staff to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to maximise learner success and deliver outstanding learning experiences.

Continuous Professional Development (CPD) & Workforce Development

• Use a range of quality indicators and organisational insights, including learner outcomes, learner and employer feedback, quality assurance activities, compliance requirements, observations, audits and staff feedback, to identify individual, team and organisational development needs.
• Design, implement and coordinate a strategic CPD programme that is engaging, inclusive, relevant and responsive to organisational priorities and workforce needs.
• Deliver and facilitate workshops, training sessions, coaching activities, peer learning opportunities and professional development programmes for staff across all departments and roles.
• Support managers and teams to identify skills gaps, succession planning opportunities and talent development priorities, contributing to workforce development and organisational effectiveness.
• Promote a culture of continuous professional learning, collaboration, innovation and reflective practice across the organisation.
• Encourage colleagues to take ownership of their professional development through self-reflection, action planning and engagement in learning opportunities.
• Identify, develop and nurture talent across the organisation, supporting career progression pathways and helping colleagues maximise their potential.
• Source and share internal and external best practice, research and professional development opportunities to enhance organisational capability.
• Work collaboratively with leaders and managers to ensure professional development activities align with strategic objectives and quality improvement priorities.
• Evaluate and measure the impact of CPD activities using a range of quantitative and qualitative measures, including staff feedback, changes in practice, quality improvement outcomes, learner achievement and progression data, compliance measures, and organisational performance indicators.
• Produce reports and recommendations that demonstrate the effectiveness and return on investment of CPD activities, informing future workforce development planning.
• Continuously review and improve professional development provision to ensure it delivers measurable improvements in staff performance, learner experiences and organisational outcomes.

Quality Improvement & Organisational Development

• Contribute to the organisation's Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) through the design, delivery and evaluation of staff development, training and workforce development activities.
• Support colleagues across all departments to understand, implement and continuously improve professional practice, quality standards and organisational procedures.
• Work collaboratively with managers and teams to identify strengths, address development needs and implement improvement strategies that enhance organisational effectiveness and learner outcomes.
• Support the organisation's readiness for external inspection, audit and quality assurance activity by strengthening staff knowledge, confidence, performance and compliance.
• Promote a culture of excellence, accountability, innovation and continuous improvement across all functions of the organisation.
• Maintain accurate records of coaching, mentoring, training, professional development and workforce development activities, evidencing progress and impact.
• Facilitate opportunities for colleagues to share effective practice, collaborate across teams and contribute to organisational learning.
• Analyse feedback, performance data, quality indicators and organisational outcomes to identify trends, inform decision-making and support continuous improvement.
• Measure and evaluate the impact of quality improvement and staff development activities, demonstrating how interventions contribute to enhanced practice, improved performance, increased staff capability and positive learner, employer and organisational outcomes.
• Produce reports and recommendations that inform strategic planning, workforce development and quality improvement priorities.
• Champion a coaching and reflective culture that empowers all staff to develop their skills, maximise their potential and contribute to the organisation's success.

General

• Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive working environment for students and staff, in line with Health & Safety regulations, the Code of Conduct, Safeguarding protocols, Data Protection (GDPR), and the Equality Policy. Ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained throughout the provision.
• Actively participate in Bridge Training events, including parents’ evenings, open days and careers events, to support learner engagement and progression.
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development by actively engaging in lifelong learning and seeking opportunities to enhance personal effectiveness and subject knowledge.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as required, both at the primary place of work and across other Bridge Training locations. Over time, the responsibilities of this role may evolve; any changes will be made in consultation with the post holder and reflected in a revised job description. The company’s appraisal process will serve as the formal mechanism for reviewing and updating this document.

The post holder will also undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required at the initial agreed place of work and other locations. In time the job may change and in consultation with the post holder, the job description will be revised and issued, as necessary. The appraisal process in place in the company will be the mechanism for instigating discussions and subsequent amendments to this document.
