Transport Administrator
Cheltenham
We are seeking a Transport Administrator to join our clients transport and logistics team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a professional and collaborative team within a fast-paced, structured environment, where organisation and attention to detail are highly valued.
Location: Stow-on-the-Wold
Salary: £25,000-£30,000
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. Flexibility may be required depending on operational needs.
Holiday: 30 days inclusive of UK Bank Holidays (all Bank Holidays must be booked in advance)
The Transport Administrator will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the transport and logistics department. Responsibilities include coordinating deliveries, maintaining accurate records, processing Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation, and ensuring compliance across all transport activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage incoming and outgoing transport documentation, including PODs, invoices, and delivery notes.
- Ensure timely processing, validation, and archiving of PODs.
- Coordinate delivery schedules and updates with drivers and third-party carriers.
- Track deliveries and maintain accurate delivery logs and records.
- Update internal systems daily with transport status and records.
- Liaise with warehouse staff, suppliers, and customers to resolve queries.
- Ensure all documentation is filed and stored according to compliance requirements.
- Support the Operations Manager in maintaining transport records for audits.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports on deliveries and transport KPIs.
- Escalate unresolved or critical issues to the Operations Manager.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous experience in transport, logistics, or administrative roles (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Familiarity with transport management systems (TMS) is an advantage
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Problem-solving mindset and proactive attitude
