We are seeking a skilled and motivated Accounts Officer to join our friendly Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys variety, responsibility, and contributing to a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the finance function. With involvement in both transactional and reporting duties, this role is ideal for someone looking to broaden their experience within a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping:
- Maintain and reconcile accounts payable and receivable ledgers.
- Manage & process external payment sources via in-house system.
- Produce sales invoices accurately and in accordance with company policy.
- Prepare payments, reconcile, and monitor bank accounts and credit cards, resolving discrepancies as needed.
- Prepare and post journals relating to end of month.
Payroll & Reporting
- Support team with monthly payroll processing and administration.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Support month-end and year-end reporting.
Systems & Analysis
- Enter and maintain financial data in accounting software with a high level of accuracy.
- Assist with reconciliations and assist with cashflow management and debtor control.
- Communication & Team Support
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to resolve queries promptly, via Jira, email and telephone.
- Assist in preparation for audit, ensuring compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
About you:
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role is essential(min of 2-3 years)
- Working knowledge of Xero; familiarity with Microsoft Business Central highly advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Role Details:
- Salary: Up to £27,000.00 per annum
- Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week
- (Monday to Friday – consolidated hours considered)
