SGS College is looking for a Youth Worker Team Leader to join our Wellbeing Service at WISE Campus.

FTE Salary: Up to £26,865.00 (Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience)

Contract Type: Permanent, Term Time Only

Term-Time Only Contracts will incur a salary adjustment if the start date is after 1st September.

About the Role

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? Do you thrive in dynamic, relational environments where every day brings new opportunities to inspire and support? We’re looking for an experienced Youth Worker to join our Wellbeing Service team at SGS College’s Stroud Campus.

This role will bring about the chance to create safe, inclusive spaces where learners feel seen, heard, and valued. You’ll work closely with students who may be navigating emotional challenges, using trauma-informed and restorative approaches to help them build resilience, confidence, and a sense of belonging.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Build trusting, professional relationships with learners, offering informal education and emotional support.
  • Deliver creative workshops, group sessions, and one-to-one interventions that promote wellbeing and personal growth.
  • Be a visible, approachable presence across campus—especially during social times—to foster a positive, safe environment.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to break down barriers and connect learners to the right support.
  • Champion diversity, inclusion, and equality in everything you do.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

Experience: At least 2 years working with young people in youth work, social care, housing, or similar settings.
Skills: Excellent communication, ability to lead and motivate, and a strong commitment to trauma-informed practice.
Qualities: Empathetic, energetic, and adaptable—you know how to engage young people in ways that feel authentic and empowering.
Knowledge: Restorative approaches, solution-focused techniques, and safeguarding best practice.
