Can you connect with a young person, recognise what motivates them and help them take a positive next step?
Wings 4 Growth is recruiting Learning Mentors and Youth Support Workers to support bespoke education and mentoring.
Our provision works with learners aged 4–25. For these roles, we particularly welcome applicants interested in helping teenagers and young adults engage with learning, develop practical skills and prepare for their next stage.
Every learner has strengths to build on. We design individual curricula that connect those strengths and interests with meaningful educational and personal goals.
You do not need to be a qualified teacher or an experienced Learning Mentor. Relevant skills may come from youth work, sport, coaching, creative activities, community support, care or education.
What you will do
• Build trust through reliable, professional relationships.
• Use learners’ interests to encourage engagement.
• Support practical projects and bespoke learning activities.
• Develop confidence, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Help learners work towards further education, training, employment or greater independence.
• Follow individual plans and work closely with colleagues.
• Record progress, achievements and concerns accurately.
Music, art, cooking, technology, sport, gardening and practical skills can all provide valuable starting points for learning. Tell us what you could bring.
Working settings
Outreach: Support young people in their homes and the community. You will need a driving licence, suitable car and motor insurance covering business use.
Centre-based: Join the relevant centre team, supporting learning at the centre and through community activities.
Who we need

You can work within agreed plans, communicate with colleagues and remain focused on helping learners progress.
