An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Youth Mental Health Worker to join a specialist SEN school in Stroud. The school supports children and young people with Autism and other complex learning needs, providing them with tailored strategies to help them thrive. This Youth Mental Health Worker role offers the chance to gain valuable experience in mental health, SEN and education.
The Youth Mental Health Worker Role:
- Support pupils aged 4-16 with their learning, social development, and emotional wellbeing.
- Help children regulate emotions and de-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively.
- Teach and encourage functional life skills to promote independence and self-confidence.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver individualised care.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
Attitudes:
- Experience working with children or young people.
- Safeguarding knowledge/training (or willingness to complete).
- A caring, patient, and positive attitude.
- Motivation to make a lasting difference in children's lives.
Salary: £85 to £100 Daily +
Hours Per Week: Full Time
