About The Team & Role

Come and work for a rewarding organisation.   You will be joining our friendly and efficient Education Business Support Team that provides a comprehensive and diverse administrative support service to several of the operational teams in the Education Service, which is part of the Children and Familes Directorate. 

About You  

To be successful you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to take accurate action points and detailed minutes at meetings and panels is critical to this role. You will need a high standard of ICT skills and experience of using a wide range of systems and packages including Microsoft 365, client management systems and online forms.  Your sound collaboration and organisational skills will enable you to work very closely with colleagues to share and prioritise workloads and to ensure that statutory and departmental deadlines are always met or exceded.  

You will be customer-focused and able to build productive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, which includes schools, public sector services, parents, NHS, oither GCC services, suppliers and government agencies such as Ofsted.  

You will be required to undertake a wide range of administrative duties including:

Monitoring multiple generic mailboxes and responding to customer enquiries via email and telephone.

Accurately creating and updating electronic records using spreadsheets and databases including, Jadu, Excel, Capita and Liquid Logic.

Arranging children’s panel meetings - TALC and Intervention Circles, including regular note and minute taking, circulating documents/notes and the forward planning of cases and reviews using Jadu, Outlook and MS Teams.

Processing purchase order requests, invoices, data cleansing, processing funding allocations and internal transfers using SAP and electronic forms as well as processing APS and Section 19 referrals.

A positive and flexible approach to team working, to include providing cover for other administrators on their non-working and leave days as well as supporting colleagues at peak work periods will be required.

The role is based at Shire Hall in Gloucester, with the Edcuation Business Support Team, however, there are team building activities in the Cheltenham office with the Multi Agency Support Service on a Thursday and it is that team that you will be providing administrative support to.  Initially office-based full-time while you undertake induction and training, there will be an opportunity to hybrid work using GCC’s secure IT equipment on some days.  We ask that all team members work a proportion of their working week in the office with their colleagues, and, working from home is always subject to the needs of the service being met first.
