This is a Gloucestershire County Council job.
 

Gloucestershire Trading Standards are looking for an Authorised Enforcement Assistant.
 
About the role
 
The successful applicant will focus on tackling illegal tobacco supply predominantly in Gloucestershire but also supporting the South West Region as well as supporting businesses to achieve compliance across a vast range of tobacco and vapes regulations designed to protect consumers, while at the same time, working to gain a Level 6 Trading Standards apprenticeship across all areas of Trading Standards. 
 
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working but you will be given 20% of your week to focus on your studies.
 

About You


•    Undertake duties which will focus on tackling the supply of illegal tobacco and vapes
•    Assist in enforcing Trading Standards legislation via a variety of methods including inspections, projects and  targeted advice and/or guidance
•    Assist the Team in conducting investigations into alleged criminal and civil breaches of legislation in accordance with relevant legislation
•    Provide assistance to other staff within the Service, therefore increasing your experience and knowledge
•    Attend court to represent the Council as required in relation to any prosecutions
•    Respond to consumer complaints and business enquiries relating to Trading Standards issues and ensure that these are effectively and efficiently addressed
•    Assist colleagues responding to complaints and obtaining witness statement

A full UK driving Licence is required.
