At Ellia, we’re building a small, supportive team of home helpers across Gloucestershire.  We don’t offer personal care.  We offer something just as important, practical help and genuine companionship for older people who want to stay independent in their own homes.

You’ll be matched with a small number of local clients to visit each week.

You might:

• Help with light cleaning, tidying and laundry
• Prepare meals or snacks
• Pick up groceries or run errands
• Support someone after hospital or a big life change
• Spend time chatting, playing a game or going for a walk

This is about more than tasks. You’ll bring consistency, reassurance and kindness, and get the satisfaction of knowing your visits are the highlight of someone’s week.

About you:

You don’t need prior experience, just warmth, common sense and a willingness to help.

You’ll need to:

• Be reliable, friendly and respectful
• Feel comfortable working independently
• Have access to a car for local visits
• Be able to work a minimum of 8 hours per week
• Be happy to undergo a DBS check (we’ll arrange this if needed)

• £15 per hour – not self-employed

At Ellia, we’re not driven by targets or volume. We cap our client numbers to make sure every helper gets time to build real relationships and every client feels seen and supported.
